This is a small script I wrote in python to encrypt small .txt files I have on my computer that may contain sensitive information.
Please note that as I have no training as a security developer, I cannot reccomend its use to others.
You can download the script here. The script uses the cryptography library for python. You can download it with pip by running the command
pip install cryptography.
The script has three modes:
emode encrypts a file. Run it with
qwikrypt e file.txt. Enter a password (twice, to eliminate typos), and the file is encrypted under that password.
dmode decrypts a file encrypted with
emode. Run it with
qwikrypt d file.txt.
pmode retrieves a line from a file encrypted with
qwikrypt p file.txt text, enter the password, and it will return all lines in the decrypted
file.txtthat contain the string
